Nurse practitioners must set self-management goals to be able to collaborate and deliver desired treatment outcome.The inconsistency in priority setting and approaches to policy development appears to be fueled by divergent priorities and a lack of strategies for global health development (Phelan et al., 2020). These values should be able to guide practitioners in providing cross- cultural or cross-border care to patients with diverse needs. It is also a surefire way to provide specialized care by making needs-based decisions. With respect to patient rights, nurses have a duty to advocate for policies and standards that do not undermine the principles of quality and affordable care.As global unit nurse practitioners should focus more on the person for their healthcare needs by using person-centered care throughout. This class has been both instructive and eye-opening regarding nurse's roles they play in politics and leaderships. I learned how vital healthcare policy is in implementing change in the healthcare system and how nurses must improve the quality of care for patients and communities by influencing public policy. Nurse leaders can promote improved quality, safe, efficient, and cost-effective care through the implementation of healthcare policy, leadership, and advocacy. This plays a crucial role in appropriately addressing global concerns.I will analyze the implementation of new policies and apply the leadership styles to aid in creating new concepts to use in my upcoming practicum experience. I will also be an advocate not only for my patient but other nurse practitioners in future practicums and career.
